Международная сеть кафедр ЮНЕСКО по ИКТ в образовании

Special  session of UNESCO Chairs working in the field of ICTs in education and distance learning was organized within the International Conference IITE-2010  “ICTs in Teacher Education: Policy, Open Educational Resources and Partnership” which took place on 15-16 November 2010 in St. Petersburg, Russian Federation.

Representatives of 15 UNESCO Chairs presented their activities and discussed the role of UNITWIN/UNESCO Chairs partnership with IITE on ICTs in Education.

The UNESCO Chairs and UNITWIN networks participated in the session agreed to form a new UNITWIN Network of the UNESCO Chairs working in the field of ICT use in Education. The UNITWIN/UNESCO Chairs Programme, while strengthening existing partnerships, including the new Network on ICTs use in Education, will be open to new alliances within the university community and society at large and will advocate for inviting UNITWIN/UNESCO Chairs’ partners to join the new Network.

The Network will define effective mechanisms and options of cooperation between UNESCO IITE and UNITWIN/UNESCO Chairs.

In this regard a proposal from the UNESCO Chair in Distance Engineering Education of the State University of Aerospace Instrumentation (Saint Petersburg) has been considered to host a Round Table to discuss the concept and action plan for the new UNESCO Chairs Network on ICT use in Education on 6-10 June 2011 in Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation.
